This year’s School of Theology at Moore College is about “True Feelings: Emotions in Christian Life and Ministry” – Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th September.

“There is no question that one of the most controversial areas for Christian life and ministry in the early 21st century is that of the place of the human emotions in Christian experience. Feelings certainly run high about feelings. Can we trust our feelings? Should we suppress them or should we indulge them? Does God have feelings?

This year’s Moore College School of Theology is dedicated to thinking about the emotions. It will address profound theological questions about the feelings of God, the affections of Jesus Christ and the role of the Holy Spirit in stimulating emotions. Papers relating to Jonathan Edwards and the Puritans bring some fascinating conversations to the table.

There will be a focus on the practicalities of the Christian life: music and the emotions, corporate worship and the emotions, and preaching and the emotions. A variety of shorter seminars will be offered with the intention to address specific topics in the light of the emotions.”
