‘A minister, a gay couple and a new SBS documentary’
“When Eternity received a miniature wedding cake in the mail from SBS, our initial reaction was, huh?
But it all quickly became clear. The cake gimmick [is to encourage] us to tune in to the new SBS documentary series Living With The Enemy.
Anglican minister and blogger David Ould from Macquarie Fields in Sydney’s southwest is featured in the first episode, all about same sex marriage. Ould, a conservative, was pitted against atheist gay couple, Gregory Storer and Michael Barnett, both activists for same sex marriage.”

ACL President’s Address — 2014 AGM
President of the Anglican Church League, the Rev. Gav Poole, spoke at tonight’s ACL Annual General Meeting –
“Psalm 145 is a song of praise about ‘praise’. The only fitting praise for the LORD, is perfect praise. Praise that is declared everyday, everywhere for ever and ever.
Praise of the LORD is a return to order, a reversal of sin, curse and rebellion. It is to tell of his character – abounding in love; wondrous works and mercy to all. It stands opposed to speech that blasphemes, bears false testimony, incites rebellion or ignores the LORD. Read more

World Vision USA reverses decision

Dr. Mark Thompson writes,
“The end result of this weeks statement and then reversal will no doubt be quite costly for the leadership of World Vision US. No doubt they will face more concentrated opposition from homosexual lobby groups in the US and elsewhere than they had ever experienced before they publicly abandoned their longstanding employment policy a few days ago. … It will be important in the next few days for us all to pray for Richard Stearns and the senior management of World Vision US.” Read it all here.
Presbyterian College opens new building, changes name
The Presbyterian Theological Centre in Burwood has opened its new building – and changed its name to Christ College. The Principals of Moore College, SMBC and Morling College were invited to be present for the opening on Friday night.
Christ College Principal, Dr. Ian Smith, explained the College’s new logo, a crown of thorns, is a reminder that the college and its graduates must avoid self-promotion and serve as Christ did.
The college website’s new URL is christcollege.edu.au.
Christian B&B loses Supreme Court appeal
“The UK Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal by a Christian B&B that only allows married couples to share a double bed.
Owners Peter and Hazelmary Bull had been successfully sued by gay couple Martyn Hall and Steven Preddy, and ordered to pay £3,600 in damages. …”

Here’s a heads up from the Defence Anglicans website –
“Defence Sunday is held annually on the Sunday nearest to Remembrance Day (11 November).
We use the day to:
- Draw attention to the spiritual needs and wellbeing of those who serve in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as sailors, soldiers or airmen and airwomen.
- Foster prayer support within Churches for those who serve the nation through ADF service.
- Encourage clergy to consider service as full or part-time Australian Defence Force Chaplains.
- Build bridges of cooperative partnership between the Anglican ministry to the Australian Defence Force and diocese and parish churches across Australia.”

He then goes up to the bridge to chat to the officers on duty before heading off to a meeting with the commander of the ship. …”

President of the Anglican Church League, the Rev. Gav Poole, gave this address at the Annual General Meeting earlier this month:
“Chappo knew as much about denominational politics as anyone. He was after all a member of the ACL. But the legacy he left us with was a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

In 2003, the TEC General Convention consented to a practicing homosexual becoming the Bishop of New Hampshire. That led to a sequence of events that changed the Anglican Communion forever. Read more
Glenn Davies elected Archbishop of Sydney
The Anglican Church League warmly congratulates Archbishop-Elect Glenn Davies on his election as the 12th Archbishop of Sydney and assures him, and his wife Dianne, of our prayers and support as we together seek to win Sydney for Christ.
We look forward to a continued strong relationship with Archbishop Davies, who is also an Emeritus Vice President of the League. Dr. Davies will be installed as Archbishop on Friday 23rd August in St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
