A faith shared across generations

“At the National Grandparent Conference, Moore College celebrated the vital ministry of grandparents and encouraged older Christians to keep growing in their knowledge of God’s word through the Moore PTC.

What does faithful ministry look like across a lifetime and across generations?

This was at the heart of the 2026 National Grandparent Conference, where Moore Theological College joined hundreds of grandparents and ministry leaders seeking to leave a living legacy of faith. …

The value of faith shared across generations can be seen in the Ramsay family where three generations have been trained at Moore in order to be equipped to serve God’s church.

Nathan, first year student at Moore, speaks warmly of the wisdom he has received from his parents and grandparents …”

20% attendance growth in three years — Craig Roberts — The Pastor’s Heart

From The Pastor’s Heart this week –

“After a decade of decline, Sydney Anglican church attendance has grown by more than 20% in just three years. This is now higher than at any point since 2013.

But underneath the encouraging headline, the picture is uneven. Larger churches have grown fastest. Around 13% of churches reached an approximate proxy for the report’s 5% conversion target.

Plus, a significant group of churches remain in long-term decline.

So what’s driving the turnaround? Are people actually coming to faith in Jesus? Or are Christians moving between churches? And why are churches with stronger children’s and youth ministries growing faster?

Craig Roberts, CEO of Anglican Youthworks and chair of the committee behind the new Sydney Anglican attendance report, says there’s much to thank God for, but there’s also some challenging numbers, as Sydney Anglicans pursue the ambitious goal of 5% annual attendance growth through people coming to faith in Jesus.”

Love in the church

From Phillip Jensen –

“Dear friends,

The second half of 1 Corinthians 14 gives us great insight into the nature of church life. Having addressed the subject of prophecy and tongues in the light of love, Paul now discusses their use specifically in the church. We know from the first half of the chapter that prophecy is greater than tongue-speaking, because of its edifying effect. But what is the effect of speaking in tongues in church? And how should we conduct it, if we have tongue-speaking at all?

Three times in this passage, Paul tells people to be silent. What does that mean and why does he want silence in church? As our ministries in church are to be conducted in love, so also we see here they are to be conducted in accordance with the character of God—not chaotically, but decently and in order. What does it mean and how are we to do it? I hope you enjoy this episode of Two Ways News and remember to subscribe and share it with your friends.

Yours,

Phillip.”
